Finding Your Custom Domain Login URL
Many Salesforce users struggle to find their org's login page because every company has a unique URL. Salesforce's My Domain feature gives each organization a custom login URL, and since 2023, it is mandatory for all Salesforce orgs.
Salesforce URL Format Explained
Your organization's login URL follows this pattern:
https://yourcompany.my.salesforce.comReplace yourcompany with your organization's chosen domain name. For example:
| Company | Likely My Domain URL |
|---|---|
| Acme Corp | https://acme.my.salesforce.com |
| Globex Inc | https://globex.my.salesforce.com |
| Initech | https://initech.my.salesforce.com |
Enhanced Domains
Salesforce has been rolling out "enhanced domains" which simplify the URL structure. Your URL may look like yourcompany.my.salesforce.com (enhanced) or the older na123.salesforce.com format. Both work the same way for login purposes.
How to Find Your Login URL
If you do not know your company's Salesforce URL, try these methods in order:
Method 1: Check Previous Emails
Search your inbox for emails from Salesforce (sender: @salesforce.com). Password reset emails, login notifications, and workflow emails often contain your org's My Domain URL in the links.
Method 2: Ask a Colleague or Your Admin
The fastest approach. Your Salesforce admin, IT helpdesk, or any colleague who uses Salesforce can share the URL.
Method 3: Try Common Patterns
Type your company name into the URL pattern and test it:
https://[companyname].my.salesforce.comTry variations: the full company name, a shortened version, or an abbreviation.
Method 4: Use login.salesforce.com as a Starting Point
Navigate to login.salesforce.com. In some configurations, after entering your username, Salesforce redirects you to your My Domain login page. This does not work for all orgs, but it is worth trying.
Method 5: Check Your SSO Portal
If your company uses Single Sign-On (Okta, Azure AD, Ping Identity), Salesforce will appear as an app tile in your SSO dashboard. Click it, and you will be redirected to the correct Salesforce URL.
For Admins: How to Find and Change Your My Domain
If you are a Salesforce administrator:
1 Log into Salesforce and go to Setup.
2 In the Quick Find box, type "My Domain".
3 Click My Domain under "Company Settings."
4 Your current My Domain URL is displayed at the top of the page.
To change it (rarely needed):
- Click Edit on the My Domain page.
- Enter a new domain name.
- Click Check Availability, then Register Domain.
- After DNS propagates, deploy the new domain to users.
Changing Your Domain Affects All Users
Changing the My Domain URL breaks existing bookmarks, SSO configurations, and API integrations. Communicate changes well in advance and update all connected systems.
Sandbox Custom Domain URLs
Sandbox environments have their own custom domain URLs that differ from production:
Production: https://yourcompany.my.salesforce.com
Sandbox: https://yourcompany--sandboxname.sandbox.my.salesforce.comFor more details on sandbox login, see our Sandbox Access Guide.
Bookmarking and Sharing Your Login URL
Once you have identified the correct URL:
- Bookmark it in your browser — name it clearly (e.g., "Salesforce – Production").
- Save it in your password manager alongside your credentials.
- Pin it to your browser's bookmarks bar for one-click access.
- Do not rely on Google search to find your login page. Phishing sites sometimes appear in search results mimicking Salesforce login pages. Always use your bookmarked URL.
Common URL-Related Errors
"The page you requested is unavailable"
This usually means the My Domain you entered does not exist. Double-check the spelling of your company's domain name.
Redirect loop or blank page
Clear your browser cookies for *.salesforce.com and try again. This often happens when cookies from an old session or a different org conflict with the current login attempt.
"Your org uses a custom domain" message
If you try to log in at login.salesforce.com and see this message, Salesforce is telling you to use your My Domain URL instead. The message sometimes includes the correct URL — look for it before navigating away.
