How to Log Into Salesforce (Standard Flow)
Logging into a standard Salesforce org takes three steps:
1 Navigate to your login page. Open login.salesforce.com in your browser, or use your company's custom domain URL (e.g., yourcompany.my.salesforce.com).
2 Enter your credentials. Type the email address associated with your Salesforce user record and your password.
3 Complete MFA verification. Approve the push notification in the Salesforce Authenticator app, or enter the code from your authenticator app. Since February 2022, Salesforce requires MFA for all direct UI logins.
Quick Tip
Bookmark your login URL and save it in your password manager. This prevents phishing attempts that mimic the Salesforce login page.

Frequently Asked Questions
What is the Salesforce login URL?
The default Salesforce production login URL is login.salesforce.com. However, most organizations now use a custom "My Domain" URL such as yourcompany.my.salesforce.com. Ask your Salesforce administrator for your organization's specific URL.
How do I log into Salesforce for the first time?
Check your email for a welcome message from Salesforce with the subject line "Verify your account." Click the verification link, set your password, and enroll in multi-factor authentication. You will then be redirected to your org's homepage.
Why does Salesforce require MFA?
As of February 1, 2022, Salesforce requires multi-factor authentication for all users logging in through the UI. This requirement is part of Salesforce's trust and security commitment. MFA significantly reduces the risk of unauthorized access from phishing, credential stuffing, and account takeover attacks.
Can I use SSO instead of direct login?
Yes. If your organization has configured Single Sign-On (SSO) through an identity provider such as Okta, Azure AD, or Ping Identity, you can log in through your company's SSO portal. SSO satisfies Salesforce's MFA requirement when the identity provider enforces MFA.
I forgot my password — what do I do?
Click the "Forgot Your Password?" link on the Salesforce login page and enter your username. You will receive a password reset email within a few minutes. For more details, see our complete password reset guide.
